Sheikh Mansur Cautions Clerics Over Religion-Based Political Campaigns
A respected Islamic scholar in Sokoto State, Professor Mansur Ibrahim Sokoto, has advised fellow clerics to avoid campaigning or showing support for Bola Tinubu based on religious sentiments.
Speaking as reported by Daily Nigerian, the professor expressed concern that the Muslim-Muslim ticket which brought Tinubu to power in 2023 has not delivered any meaningful benefits to Muslims or the Northern region.
He urged religious leaders to shift their focus toward promoting development and the welfare of the people, instead of using religion as a deciding factor in political choices.
