Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isah Ali Pantami, has on Wednesday renewed his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his Pantami Ward in Gombe State.

The membership renewal forms part of a nationwide exercise being carried out by the ruling party across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), aimed at updating its membership register ahead of future political activities.

Prof. Pantami, who hails from Gombe State, was seen participating in the exercise alongside other party members in his ward, reaffirming his continued affiliation with the APC.

His decision to renew his membership has further fueled political speculation in the state, with many observers suggesting that the former minister may be positioning himself for the 2027 governorship race in Gombe. Although he is yet to officially declare his intention, his renewed engagement with party structures has drawn significant attention from political stakeholders and supporters.

Prof. Pantami served as Nigeria’s Minister of Communications and Digital Economy between 2019 and 2023, during which he played a key role in driving the country’s digital transformation agenda.
