APC Congress: Governor Aliyu Urges New Officials to Uphold Integrity Ahead of 2027 Elections

Daily Star Nigeria gathered that Governor Ahmed Aliyu has tasked newly elected All Progressives Congress (APC) local government executives in Sokoto State to work with transparency and dedication as they prepare for the 2027 elections.

The governor made the call in Bodinga Local Government Area while concluding his monitoring tour of APC congresses in Sokoto South, Wamakko, and Bodinga councils. He expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the exercises, praising delegates for their maturity and commitment.

“I am satisfied with the arrangements made in all the areas I visited, as well as the maturity exhibited by the delegates,” Governor Aliyu said.
“I also commend the APC National Secretariat for sending competent officials to conduct the congress in the state.”

He assured the new officials of the state government’s support to succeed in their roles and stressed that the APC in Sokoto remains united and strong. Party members were encouraged to renew their dedication to strengthening the party and achieving greater milestones.

Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, who hails from Bodinga, commended the governor for implementing numerous people-oriented projects across the state. He urged residents to continue supporting both the federal and state governments to enjoy more democratic dividends. Dingyadi also called on the newly elected APC officials to dedicate themselves to ensuring the party secures more votes in the 2027 elections.

State APC Chairman, Isa Saddiq Achida, congratulated the new executives and urged them to work tirelessly for the party’s growth. He highlighted the achievements of the Ahmed Aliyu-led administration and emphasized the need for continued support to sustain progress.

The new local government executives emerged through consensus and were endorsed by key stakeholders across the state’s 23 local government areas. A total of 27 officials were elected.

  • Sokoto South LGA:
    • Chairman: Hayatu Muhammad
    • Vice Chairman: Yakubu Dauda Indiye
    • Secretary: Hamza Atiku
  • Wamakko LGA:
    • Chairman: Alhaji Umaru Nabara
    • Vice Chairman: Alhaji Masarana Wamakko
    • Secretary: Sani Aliyu Maisango
  • Bodinga LGA:
    • Chairman: Isa Aliyu
    • Vice Chairman: Ahmed Tsoho
    • Secretary: Alhaji Umar Aliyu Dingyadi

Governor Aliyu’s monitoring team included Ahmed Abdullahi Kalambaina, Member representing Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency; Secretary to the State Government, Muhammad Bello Sifawa; Chief of Staff, Aminu Haliru Dikko; party leaders, commissioners, advisers, and other APC stakeholders.

Daily Star Nigeria reports that the congresses were aimed at strengthening grassroots party structures, ensuring APC remains cohesive and ready for upcoming elections in the state.
