A U.S. court has ordered President Donald Trump to reinstate more than 1,000 employees of Voice of America (VOA) who were suspended from their jobs.

Daily Star Nigeria gathered that the presiding judge, Royce Lamberth, delivered the ruling on Tuesday, stating that the staff reduction carried out under the leadership of Kari Lake was unlawful. He ordered that the affected workers must be returned to their positions before March 23.

The court also directed the U.S. Agency for Global Media to present a plan on how VOA’s global broadcasts will continue as they previously operated.

VOA, which was established after World War II, is one of the major U.S. media outlets, broadcasting in about 49 languages to millions of people worldwide.
