Gunmen Abduct Kano LG Secretary in Midnight Raid
Gunmen have abducted the Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area in Kano State following a midnight attack on his residence.
Daily Star Nigeria gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of the day when armed men stormed the victim’s home in Dinya town, firing gunshots that threw the area into panic.
Residents said the attackers carried out the operation quickly, forcing people to flee for safety before taking the official to an unknown destination.
Daily Trust reported that the gunmen invaded the residence at night and successfully whisked the local government secretary away without immediate resistance.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the incident. However, sources within the community said efforts are ongoing to rescue the victim and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The development has further raised concerns over the rising cases of abduction in parts of northern Nigeria.
