US Christmas Strike a Blessing, Says Remi Tinubu, Calls for More Attacks on Terrorists in Northern Nigeria
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has described the recent United States military strike carried out during the Christmas period as a “blessing,” calling for sustained and intensified military actions against terrorists operating in Northern Nigeria.
Mrs Tinubu made the statement in an interview during her visit at the United States of America while reacting to renewed global efforts aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, noting that decisive foreign interventions have proven effective in weakening extremist groups.
According to her, similar coordinated strikes would significantly aid Nigeria’s ongoing fight against banditry, insurgency, and other forms of terrorism that have plagued several northern states for years.
The First Lady stressed that terrorists have shown no regard for human lives, religious sentiments, or festive periods, adding that strong military responses remain necessary to restore peace and security in affected communities.
She urged Nigeria’s allies and security partners to continue supporting counter-terrorism operations, particularly through intelligence sharing, logistics, and precision strikes against known terror enclaves.
Mrs Tinubu further expressed optimism that sustained pressure on terrorist groups would pave the way for lasting peace, economic recovery, and the safe return of displaced persons across Northern Nigeria.
